Liz Fielding
I have always loved to dance, as a child I studied Ballet, Tap and Modern dance and continued to attend dance classes at university where I also trained to be an aerobics instructor.
Dancing and aerobics took a back seat when I left university I started work and then became non-existent when my children came along. I still loved to dance but the opportunities for adult dance classes were far and few between.
So, when I saw the AJ centre for dance flyer in March 2018 with Jazz, Urban and Contemporary adult classes I seized my chance to reignite my dancing dream. The first time going to a dance class as an adult is very nerve wracking. What if I’d forgotten how to dance? What if I couldn’t keep up? But I knew that I had to take this opportunity. So I walked into the very first AJ taster session, telling myself that it didn’t matter how good everyone was, I was there for me! Amie is so welcoming, and her class were so fun that I immediately signed up for all the classes and I’ve never looked back!
Through dance, Amie has helped me to increase my self confidence and given me fantastic opportunities and training to teach classes of my own. It is a privilege and a joy to teach these AJ dancers.
What I love most about the AJ family is that everybody gets the chance to shine! The classes and the shows are fantastic and so much fun to be a part of. There really is something for everyone, all ages and abilities are nurtured to become the best they can be. So if you’ve always wanted to dance or thought your dancing days were over, now’s your chance to reignite your dancing dream and come and join us!
